SIR RODNEY DUNBAR - MI6 GENERAL
THE TARGET - Terramentals aim to steal a British Royal Navy submarine, to destroy oil wells in the North Sea, by way of drawing attention to the manifold oil discharges, and their unlawful detention, as legitimate conservation protestors.
General Sir Rodney Vernon Dunbar is an MI6 manager dealing with MOD foul ups as the occur and retrospectively.
He works with Nick Johnson MP and the Chief Constable at Scotland Yard - so knows he is beyond reproach. Sir Rodney, is a big investor in North Sea oil. Something he has taken a great deal of trouble to hide, lodging such holdings overseas; well hidden from prying eyes. Thus, when the corrupt practices concerning oil leaks, are in danger of being revealed to the press at a protest in London, he acts fast to quash the civil unrest and protect his financial assets.
Sir Rodney is given carte blanche by Nick Johnson to deal with the ring leading protestors, including framing them and sexually abusing one of them. In his view, a small price to pay to ensure his oil dividends continue to flow, even though such fossil fuels are harmful to the environment. Sir Rodney has the backing of The Devil, his partner in crime as a fellow fossil fuel investor.
It does not occur to the General that in pushing the protestors, and destroying their lives - by way of the frame up - that he is party to - that this might come back to bite him on the rear end. Because, nobody could have predicted that the environmentalists would meet Jorges Dicaprio in prison. Let alone that the innocent demonstrators might form the Terramentals, and go off grid. He was assured that could not happen.
Then, having called in John Storm to investigate, the reactor leak on HMS Neptune is revealed. And despite a sink order from himself, the crippled nuclear submarine is towed into Lisbon harbour, for a full investigation.
The cover up of the Royal Navy's procurement fraud, and the pollution of the North Sea, collide to reveal the extent of corruption within the United Kingdom. Much to the satisfaction of the First Sealord and BAE whistleblower William Wallace.
